Cartel & Faccia Brutto
We recently went to New York to visit our friends at Faccia Brutto and tour their craft distillery. After 14 years of restaurant experience, founder Patrick Miller tapped into his Italian roots and started crafting up amari in Brooklyn, NY.
The bundle includes a 750ml bottle of Coconut Cartel, a 750ml bottle of Faccia Brutto Carciofo, and a cocktail recipe card.
With an eye towards Cynar, of the classic and most beloved Italian amari, Faccia Brutto's Carciofo features artichokes from California's Central Coast, alongside warm spices like cinnamon, allspice, and dandelion root. Lemon peel and bay leaf round out the blend that’s sweetened with organic cane sugar.
Looking to introduce your friends to a new spirit or impress your dinner party guests? Make "Il Cartiofo" with 1.5 oz Coconut Cartel Añejo Rum, .75 oz Carciofo, .5 oz agave syrup, .5 oz lime. Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake vigorously. Pour over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with artichoke leaves and cherry.
